Happy Thanksgiving

We’d like to share a beautiful story of gratitude from one of our clients

THANKSGIVING

The definition of Thanksgiving in the dictionary states it is an annual US Holiday observed on the fourth Thursday of November.  It is a formal public expression of thanks to God.

What most people think when you say the work Thanksgiving is a feast.  The day filled with turkey, trimmings and pies. It is the day proceeding Black Friday filled with great sales.

Just think, it is just one day out of 365 days to thank God. What about the rest of those days?  Do we ever think about the blessings God bestows on us each day from the time we arise to the time we retire?  Simple blessings like the sun warming our days and the moon and stars lighting our nights. The food and clean water we abundantly have to nourish us. The list goes on and on.

One Sunday at Mass, I heard a priest speak during his homily about a habit he had. I thought “where is this going?”  His habit was very easy to adopt. Before going to bed each night he thought of five blessings he received from God that day.  I thought “not a bad idea!  I think I’ll try it.”

I tried it and it has become a habit with me ever since.  Some nights, I thank God for finding an item I lost. Other nights I thank God for my friends that shared a lunch with me. I was surprised how many more than five came to me.

Let us make Thanksgiving every day. Let us celebrate and enjoy our US holiday thanking God for the wonderful country we are fortunate to live in.
